After his family moved to the North Bay, Gavin Newsom went to Redwood High School, where he was on the varsity baseball team. Newsom attended Santa Clara University, where in his first two years he tried out for the university's baseball team and received a small scholarship in his freshman year. This first-ever Gavin Newsom Baseball Rookie Card celebrates the political star’s beginnings as a baseball player – a career path which was cut short by elbow surgery in 1985.
