In 1875 Bass Reeves was appointed the first black deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River, serving until 1907 and making more than 3,000 arrests. Some historians even believe that Reeves may have been the inspiration for the Lone Ranger. Now this true American hero is finally being commemorated with his very own trading card!
