In 2024, all the copyrighted works from 1928 entered the US public domain. One of those most famous works is the silent version of the animated short film “Plane Crazy.” It was the first cartoon produced featuring the “Steamboat Willie” mouse character, however it would end up being the fourth one given a wide release, as it was reworked with sound for 1929.
